Everett C. Baker – Senior Funeral Director
Everett is the senior statesman for the Baker family, as well as our funeral home’s Senior Funeral Director. Born on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Everett moved to the West Coast as a teen. In 1981 he married his best friend and business partner, Deborah. The couple now has three grown children and three grandchildren. Everett graduated from the Western School of Funeral Service and began his profession in Duncan, B.C. After practicing there and in the Richmond/Delta area, Everett and family moved to Grand Forks in 2006 and opened the Grand Forks Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
Everett is very active in our community. He is a member of the Rotary Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a member of Venture Grand Forks, the past coordinator of the Grand Forks International committee and a past board member for the Funeral Association of British Columbia. Everett enjoys spending time with his family, reading, viewing classic cars, trips to the cabin and walks with his “boys” (three English bulldogs).
Deborah M. Baker – Funeral Services Coordinator
Deborah is mother and grandmother to the Baker clan. Deborah was born on the West Coast and travelled around British Columbia as part of a minister’s family as a child. She has an Early Childhood Education degree, specializing in special needs education. Deborah operated a childcare centre in Chilliwack before moving to Grand Forks to join her husband in funeral services. Deborah is a graduate from the Canadian College of Funeral Service and specializes in meeting families to arrange a meaningful funeral or celebration-of-life service.
Deborah enjoys the arts and is involved in many of the drama programs here in the Boundary. She is a member of the Red Hat Society and the Grand Forks International committee. Deborah also serves as president of the Boundary Musical & Theatre Society.
Aaron E. Baker – Embalmer/Home, Hospital & Coroners’ Transfers
A graduate of the Canadian College of Funeral Service, Aaron specializes in home, hospital and coroners’ transfers in addition to being our on-staff embalmer. Aaron is also a dad to three children and enjoys writing and performing music and acting in local dramas in his spare time.
Hannah Baker (Kalesnikoff) – Florist
Hannah is our on-staff florist and owner of Hannah Bees Flowers & Gifts here in Grand Forks. Growing up in a funeral family, Hannah appreciates the value of floral arrangements and what special meaning they can have as part of saying your final farewell. Hannah and her staff can design a special floral arrangement for any occasion and offer free delivery to local hospitals and care homes.
Christina-Ann Baker (Fisher) – Office Administrator
Chrissy-Ann is the eldest of the Baker children and is our Office Administrator. Serving on many local boards, she is very involved in our community. She is especially proud of her role with Blessing Boutique, which is a local outreach to those who are less fortunate in our community.
